Cultivating Place: Panayoti Kelaidis, Denver Botanic Gardens Senior Curator

Panayoti Kelaidis

This week our guest is something of a renaissance man. A Colorado native of Greek descent, PanayotiKelaidis has a background in Chinese literature and as a computer systems analyst in addition to being an expert in — and enthusiastically curious about — most things that photosynthesize and contain chlorophyll.

His story as a “life-long servant of the Goddess Flora” reminds us of the importance of sharing our passion and knowledge. Senior Curator and Director of Outreach for the Denver Botanic Gardens in Denver Colorado, where he has served for 36 years, Panayoti is characterized by colleagues as an expansive, expressive and generous gardener, educator, mentor and friend.
