Evacuation, Shelter And Information Resources For The Camp Wildfire

Tuesday a fast-moving Camp wildfire surged through Butte County, destroying much of the town of Paradise and forcing tens of thousand of people to evacuate. We're assembling information on evacuations, shelters and resources to follow the fire here.

Evacuation orders have been issued for the following areas as of 7 a.m. Saturday:

 

  • New at 12 p.m. on 11/10: East Bound Hwy 162/Oro Quincy Hwy at Forbestown Rd east to Mountain House Road/4 Mile Ridge Road, including the communities of Berry Creek, Brush Creek, Mountain House and Bloomer Hill.

 

  • Paradise, Magalia, Concow, Butte Creek Canyon, and Butte Valley

 

  • Powellton zone

 

  • Lovelock zone

 

  • Humbug zone

 

  • Stirling zone, Stirling City and Inskip

 

  • North Coutelenc zone

 

  • North Fir Haven zone

 

  • Nimshew zone

 

  • Carnegie/Colter zone

 

  • South Firhaven zone

 

  • South Coutelenc zone

 

  • North Pines zone

 

  • South Pines zone

 

  • Old Magalia zone

 

  • Lower Pentz zone

 

  • Morgan Ridge zone

  • All of Clark Road and all of pentz road, south to highway 70, everything west to highway 99 and south to highway 149 including all of Butte Valley

 

  • Shippee Road from Highway 149 to Highway 99

 

  • Cherokee Road to Highway 70 to Lake Oroville south to Table Mountain Blvd.

 

  • ORDER LIFTED: Oro-Chico Highway from Estates Drive to Durham-Dayton Highway

 
 

 

City of Chico:

  • ORDER LIFTED: East of Bruce Road, between Highway 32 to East 20th Street

 

  • ORDER LIFTED: Canyon Oaks Subdivision (beyond the gate)

  
The following evacuation warnings were in place as of 7:00 a.m. Sunday:

 

 

  • Highway 162 to Highway 99 to Highway 149 to Highway 70 (with the exception of Shippee Road from Highway 149 to Highway 99)

 

  • Nopel Road at Highway 32, north to the County line

 

  • Highway 99 east to Highway 70, from Highway 162 north to Highway 149

 

  • WARNING LIFTED: The area west of Highway 99 from 149 north to Chico City Limits, west to the Midway

Large animal shelter:

  • Large animals evacuated due to the Camp Fire can be taken to the Butte County Fairgrounds, 199 E Hazel St, Gridley, CA 95948.

 

  • If you are unable to take large animals, leave them in open pastures and leave food out. DO NOT lock them up in a barn. ‬‬‬‬

 
 

Small animal shelter:

  • FULL: Old County Hospital, 2279 Del Oro and Mono, Suite E, Oroville, CA

 

  • Chico Municipal Airport, 150 Airpark Blvd, Chico, CA 95973

 

  • When evacuating, take your animals with you. Make sure to bring water, food, bedding, and any containment devices necessary.

 

 

 

The Cal Fire information hotline is 530-538-7826. An Emergency Volunteer Center is open at Caring Choices (1398 Ridgewood in Chico). People interested in volunteering can go there or call 530-899-3873.

People looking for loved ones are encouraged to checksafeandwell.org, and check with family and friends.

 

Hope Center in Oroville (1950 Kitrick Ave Ste. A) taking donations 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday. Needs: warm clothes, shoes, socks, coats (primarily for elderly residents).
