Updated unofficial results of the Shasta County District 2 recall election show Supervisor Leonard Moty being recalled by about 1,018 votes. The tally also indicates candidate Tim Garman will win Moty's seat by about 126 votes. County Clerk Cathy Darling Allen said in a press release Friday, that her office estimates there are about 121 ballots to add to the count and that her office will continue to count mail-in ballots postmarked by election day through Feb. 8.
Early voting in the election started on Jan. 3 and polls closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
