Pedal Press Present's Artist in Residency for March/April Jalisa Sousa Silva! Join us at an exhibit of original art.
Jalisa Sousa-Silva is a printmaker from the Central Valley, currently working out of Chico, CA. In 2023, she received her BFA in Printmaking at CSU Chico. Although she also credits much of her art practice to instructors at College of the Sequoias in Visalia, CA as well. She has since used years of printmaking experience to host workshops and sell her work through both various local markets and freelance. Her preferred mediums are lithography, relief, and screenprint.

OLLI’s spring term officially starts on April 22! Whether you enjoy a class in-person, join an outdoors experience, or want to learn online, OLLI has an option for everyone.
OLLI is a community of lifelong learners aged 50+ who work together to help create and deliver educational, cultural, and social opportunities – without exams or grades! From reading poetry for pleasure and insight, to paddling the Thermalito Afterbay, to discussing the concept of “newsworthiness” and other current topics, your calendar will be filled with exciting and engaging activities all spring long. Classes start on a rolling basis and registrations are accepted throughout the spring term.

Chico Pickleball is very excited to announce the 6th Annual Chico Classic, presented by Wittmeier Auto Center and benefiting True North Housing Alliance, the home of the Torres Community Shelter!
It promises to be two days with lots of Pickleball excitement and good times, with amazing giveaways, goodie bags, a raffle and silent auction, and food!
Men's and Women's doubles are scheduled for April 27th and Mixed doubles are scheduled for Sunday, April 28th at the 20th Street Park, Chico, CA. The tournament will be played on 16 permanent courts at the Chico Courts – 1900 Martin Luther King Jr Pkwy Chico, CA 95928.
All proceeds after tournament expenses will go to True North Housing Alliance to support their mission to move people forward and out of homelessness with compassion, dignity, and accountability. Future plans include Duke's Pet Park and Kennel for homeless pets and a Navigation Center that will allow them to serve even more people in need in our community.
This local nonprofit served over 800 and permanently housed over 200 adults, seniors, families, and college students experiencing homelessness in 2023 through their comprehensive housing and sheltering programs. On average, they permanently house someone every 2 days. They are the largest provider of services, resources, and shelter for those experiencing homelessness in Chico.
