Butte County election officials are nearly done processing ballots from the Nov. 3 election.

Registrar of Voters Candace Grubbs says about 2,100 provisional ballots remain to be counted, and they could affect local races with slim margins between candidates.

Overall, voter turnout is exceeding 81 percent. Grubbs says the turnout will set a record once all ballots are counted.

“When we get these final ones in, it’ll be an all-time high for Butte County,” she said. “I’m really proud of that. A lot of people showed a lot of interest in this election. They turned out, and they voted. And I think that’s great.”

Grubbs says her office is aiming to certify results by Thanksgiving.
