Trinity County is moving to a less restrictive tier status under California’s COVID-19 reopening plan.
Dr. Mark Ghaly, the state’s health and human services secretary, announced Tuesday that the county is moving from the red tier, which denotes substantial disease transmission, to the orange, moderate, tier.
Meanwhile, Ghaly says the pace of new infections is slowing statewide.
“Many counties – because of the rapid decline of case rates, test positivity – we’re seeing more eek into that one-week (eligibility) to move forward,” he said.
Trinity County’s move into the orange tier means restaurants can increase their indoor capacity to 50 percent. Gyms can increase indoor capacity to 25 percent, and bars where no meals are served can open outdoors.
All other counties in NSPR’s coverage area remain in the most restrictive purple tier, which denotes transmission is widespread.
