Her professional career began in high school as a youth reporter for the hyper-local non-profit publication, Boyle Heights Beat. Since then, they have worked for YR Media, KCRW, UCLA Labor Center, and The Corsair. Originally from Mexico, she is in her junior year at Long Beach State, majoring in journalism.

The California Community College Chancellor’s Office has $115 million to spend to reduce the burden of textbook costs across its 115-campus system. One approach already being developed by a few community colleges would have campuses publish their own textbooks and course materials.
