After Paradise: Day 20

Tonight on “After Paradise” – it’s been 20 days since the Camp Fire incinerated Paradise. A flash flood watch has been issued for the entire fire zone as rain now threatens to make a complex disaster operation even worse. Tonight we’ll hear the latest on the threat of landslides from the winter storm that’s approaching, plus developments in post-disaster housing and we'll take a look at why citizens can’t just go back now that the fire is out – a question many of you have called in and asked us.

In this episode:

  • Andre Byik, reporter for the Chico Enterprise-Record, shares about his reporting on the decision-making process on letting people back into Paradise
  • Brian Vidosh, a fire captain for the City of Sacramento, paints a picture of the dangers still being faced in the burn area
  • A fire survivor tells her story of escaping the fire with her family and shares that help is dwindling as she spends her third week in an evacuation shelter
  • Jude Boudreaux, financial planner in New Orleans who lived through the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, shares lessons learned about how to handle post-disaster finances

We also hope to answer questions from YOU. We have an online form and dedicated phone line for you to leave questions and comments: (530)-433-4887.
