The new president of Chico State has been announced as Gayle E. Hutchinson.
Hutchinson is currently the provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at California State University Channel Islands.
She previously served as dean of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Chico State.
Hutchinson will replace Paul Zingg, who is retiring in June. He’s served as Chico State’s president since 2004.
