Chico novelist, screenwriter, and blues pianist Emily Gallo turned one of her screenplays into a novel about an Irish writer who moves from New York to Los Angeles to his daughter Kate. He befriends some of the Venice Beach oddballs like Bella, a hoarder and Holocaust survivor, and Jed with his cat named Mother.
