FBI Joins Effort To Find Missing Shasta County Woman Sherri Papini

It’s been two weeks since 34-year-old mother Sherri Papini disappeared without a trace near Redding. Now the FBI is getting involved.

Papini was last seen Nov. 2 taking a jog near her home off of Old Oregon Trail in Mountain Gate. Her husband discovered her cell phone and some other items near Sunrise Drive after she failed to return home and left her children in daycare.

In an interview with NSPR, Keith Papini says he is still holding on to hope that she'll turn up, and that she is still out there somewhere.

"I just feel she is watching and she is holding on, she needs us," he said.

Keith Papini was at Tuesday night’s Redding City Council meeting trying to get the word out to as many people as possible.

"This is just so huge and overwhelming,” he said. “And the community has been amazing. There's a lot of friendly faces I just saw in there. Sherri and I were well known in this city, which is just great to see everybody come together. Help us find Sherri."

It is hoped that with the help of the FBI, local law enforcement will be able to take advantage of the additional resources it will make available. A reward is available for any information that leads to her. Friends and family will be releasing balloons this Saturday morning at 11 a.m. near the spot where she disappeared.
