To our listeners affected by the Carr Fire and the destruction of the KFPR transmitter in Redding:
Thank you for your patience as NSPR works to get our signal back up and running on 88.9 FM. Here’s where we stand:
- We’re working with the site’s landlord, who has installed a new building to house equipment from the several radio stations who used that tower.
- Tower climbing crews are being scheduled to install the equipment.
- However, the landlord is still working with the power company to run electricity to the site.
We do not have a specific date when we will be back on air, but we do have a Plan B. We’re also talking with other stations who broadcast from different towers in the area. Some have offered us space on a temporary basis. Because of the deadlines imposed by the coming winter weather, we’ll have to make that decision soon.
Thank you for your patience.
