Beginning with Author Mark Cushing on his latest book Pet Nation and the evolution of America's relationships with pets. Finally, he describes the current situation of pet ownership in America.

Mark Cushing is the founding partner and CEO of the Animal Policy Group and a Stanford honors graduate. He acts as Trustees Counsel for Lincoln Memorial University. In addition, he has served as adjunct faculty and lecturer at Lincoln Memorial University, Lewis & Clark College, and the University of Oregon law school.

Also, Rescue dog owner Deborah Rawlings describes how having a dog changed her life.

NSPR Producer Matt Fidler recounts his experiences becoming a dog owner, and Richard Parker has some thoughts on his dog Djobi.
