Nancy's Bookshelf: Chico authors who have written mystery novels set in the Bay Area

Mike Paull drew on his professional experience as a dentist to write The Mouth Mechanic, which is about a forensic odontologist who identifies corpses for the San Francisco medical examiner.

Also, Steve Metzger drew on his experience teaching college students and his love of rock music to write Between Rock and Hard Places.

Besides teaching college students part time, the protagonist Mike McMahon is also a private investigator hired to find out if a rock star’s car crash was murder.
