North State ICE sightings circulating on social media likely false claims | Chico State’s president responds to concerns over school’s fiscal situation | Current snowpack below average for this time of year

The latest North State and California news on our airwaves for Monday, Feb. 3.

In today’s episode:

There have been reported sightings of ICE agents across the North State. Local organizations and law enforcement report most are likely false alarms, but fears and anxieties remain high for residents.

Also, Chico State President Steve Perez recently sent a message to the campus community in response to worries about the school’s fiscal situation. Students and employees are worried following news of deep cuts at Sonoma State. A freeze on federal funding announced by the Trump Administration has heightened those concerns.

Plus, the second manual snow survey of the season measured 22 inches of snow depth, only 46 percent of average for the location near Echo Summit.
