It’s been five days since the Park Fire was sparked last Wednesday. At more than 370,000 acres, the fire is now one of the largest in California history.
Since the start of the , those near it have been watching and wondering every day where it will move next. Many have had to leave their homes, hoping they’ll still be there when they return.
For others, the news has already come that they won’t be returning to what they left behind. For those in the Park Fire’s path, full containment can’t come soon enough, and while we’d like to say that will be soon, officials have said residents need to remain patient.
This afternoon several departments from several counties being affected by the fire gave an update for residents.
- Billy See, Cal Fire Incident Commander
- Kory Honea, Butte County Sheriff
- Lisa Almaguer, Public Information Office for Butte County Public Health
- Dave Kain, Tehama County Sheriff
- Michael Johnson, Shasta County Sheriff
