Today, we’re taking a trip to Lassen County where still no cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. We’ll hear from the owner of an in-home care service that works with seniors about what challenges this pandemic has created there. We’ll also hear from a Chico State professor who just got off of a 28 deployment with the state’s disaster medical response team after working at a patient overflow facility in the Bay Area.

Today, it’s VIRUS 101 on this show. NSPR’s Blue Dot Host Dave Schlom checks in with a Chico State virologist about what we’ve learned since this pandemic started. He’ll ask questions like: How long can the virus live on surfaces? Is 6 feet enough to stay safe when social distancing? And do we know if this virus is seasonal? We’ll also hear from NSPR’s Up The Road Host Kim Weir about a delivery service dropping off groceries for your pets.

Today, we’ll hear how one local government in Tehama County is faring operationally and financially during this pandemic, and we’ll check in on a handful of cases of the virus at the Redding Veterans Home. We’ll also head to Trinity County, one of two counties in the North State that still have zero confirmed cases of COVID-19.

We’ll also head to the Upper Ridge and hear from a church that’s been helping Camp Fire survivors get essential goods like food and how they’ve been affected by the pandemic.

We’ll hear about a mobile healthcare clinic serving the communities affected by the 2018 Camp Fire with everything from masks to groceries and as this pandemic continues, we’ll check in on what that means for preparing for fire season in Butte County.
