Chico State alumnus and artist John Pugh began work Monday on recreating his mural "Academe" on the east side of the university's new Arts and Humanities Building.
His original 1981 work was taken down in the demolition of the old arts and humanities building, Taylor Hall. Pieces of the well-loved original were sold to campus community members. Most of the work on the new mural is expected to be completed this week, according to an email from the university.
