Chico State President Zingg To Retire

Chico State President Dr. Paul Zingg announced that he will retire at the end of the academic year.

The announcement came Thursday afternoon during a convocation attended by about 500 people marking the start of the fall semester.

Zingg has led Chico State since 2004. He was on leave for much of last semester after undergoing heart surgery. Zingg received a PhD in history in 1974 from the University of Georgia and has written extensively on the history of golf, baseball and other sports. He is 68.
