The Redding Police Department is set to begin coordinating with local retailers to reduce the number of abandoned shopping carts in the city. This will be in conjunction with the launch of the new Neighborhood Police Unit.
The public can now go to the Redding Police website to report abandoned carts. Twenty-seven retailers have agreed to participate in the program. Once reported, the retailer will be responsible for the removal of the cart.
