Interview: How lightning from dry thunderstorms can spark fires
Isolated mountain thunderstorms will return to the North State Tuesday through Thursday. The confidence is currently low for these storms, but if they do occur, they could produce hazardous lightning, gusty winds and hail. New fire starts could also be possible due to lightning strikes. NSPR’s Ken Devol recently spoke to Scott Rowe, lead meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento, about this type of weather and its dangers.
