What does sound look like?
To find out, reserve your ticket for NSPR’s first Blue Dot Live! event! Then, come down to the Gateway Science Museum in Chico, 7 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, March 14 (Pi Day).
Dave Schlom, host of NSPR's Blue Dot, is joined by Chico State Physics Professor Joe Pechkis for a lively presentation on the science behind sound and music.
From the basic physics of wavelengths and frequencies to standing waves, resonance, and timbre, it's an hour of fascinating demonstrations that will make the science come alive for your eyes, ears, and mind.
Based in part on Dr. Pechkis' Chico State course "Physics of Music," it is sure to be an evening to delight everyone curious about the sonic world we live in.
Blue Dot Live! is the first time we’ve “taken the show on the road.” We want to do others throughout the year. Come help make this a success. We look forward to seeing you there.
