Nancy's Bookshelf: Author David Bruhn celebrates Chico's runners

Commander David D. Bruhn, U.S. Navy (Retired), served twenty-two years on active duty and two in the Naval Reserve, as both an enlisted man and as an officer, between 1977 and 2001.

Following military service, he was a high school teacher and track coach for ten years and is now a USA Track & Field official. He lives in northern California with his wife Nancy and has two sons, David and Michael.

He is the author of twenty books, including "Toe The Mark," a book dedicated to highlighting the running programs in Chico, California, in the 1970s.

Nancy Wiegman has a master's degree in French linguistics from Indiana University and taught yoga and foreign languages at CSU Fresno and the College of Charleston before moving to Chico in 1990.
