Michele Shover is an emerita professor and former chair of the Department of Political Science at California State University, Chico. For four decades, she has published primary research-based articles in California History, California Territorial Quarterly, and The Californians on significant aspects of northern Butte County history.

Nancy Wiegman has a master's degree in French linguistics from Indiana University and taught yoga and foreign languages at CSU Fresno and the College of Charleston before moving to Chico in 1990.
