Best of Nancy's Bookshelf: Lois Buchter explores her cousin Gerti's life during WWII

Author Lois Buchter has been a writer for almost two decades. Her book, "Gerti's War: A Journal of Life Inside the Wehrmacht," is the story of her elderly cousin living in Germany during the Second World War.

The book details Gerti's life after Hitler took power and was assigned into service as an encryptionist with the top security clearance.

After writing the novel, Butcher began writing screenplays and completed numerous scripts for television and film.

Nancy Wiegman has a master's degree in French linguistics from Indiana University and taught yoga and foreign languages at CSU Fresno and the College of Charleston before moving to Chico in 1990.
