In an email Acting Public Affairs Officer for the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, Kimberly Hill, told NSPR the latest estimates for the Shoe Fire show the blaze is now 1,371 acres with 0% containment.

Hill said that a team of more than 25 engines, six dozers, and 15 crews will arrive to help with fire suppression. The fire is still moving North.

Weather conditions are expected to moderate over the next few days, but it’s uncertain what impact this could have on the fire. Hill said said nine structures, including six homes, are currently threatened.

One evacuation zone remains under an evacuation order. The U.S. Forest Service said in a recent update that it does not expect additional evacuations at this time. Residents should still be on alert.
