The US Geological Survey has revised downward the strength of an earthquake that struck this morning about 100 miles west of Ferndale off the Humboldt County coast. The 6.5-magnitude quake struck at 6:49 a.m. No damage or injuries have been reported. The Pacific Tsunami Center has said there is no tsunami danger to the coast and has not issued any warnings. The quake, recorded at a depth of six miles, was felt as far away as Fresno and Shasta Counties as well as central Oregon near Bend.
