New Year, New Shows

The New Year is all about embracing positive change, and in 2016 we are bringing these three new, dynamic shows into our regular programming lineup.
· Wednesdays at 8 p.m.—In place of the second weekly broadcast of The Best of Car Talk, we will now be airing America’s Test Kitchen Radio. Hosted by Chris Kimball, ATK Radio is a food program for right now—filled with clear, practical information, without the gourmet fuss. The hour is all about insights, tips, and techniques that illuminate the truth about real home cooking. There will be some mystery, too, like why bad things happen to good recipes and the science behind good results.
· Sunday mornings at 6 a.m.—We are pleased to add Sunday Baroque in place of People’s Pharmacy, which will still air Sundays at 8 p.m. Sunday Baroque is a celebration of beloved and appealing music from the baroque era (1600–1750) and the years leading up to it. Fresh and inviting, genial and inspiring, and often surprisingly modern sounding, it’s the perfect accompaniment for this unique day of the week, whether you’re sleeping in, joining family and friends for a leisurely brunch, going to worship, or relaxing alone with the Sunday paper and a steaming mug of coffee.
· Sunday at 6 p.m.—Following the success of our holiday specials, we are pleased to bring you the weekly Dinner Party Download (in place of Climate One, as we have our own science show producer, Dave Schlom, of The Blue Dot Report). The Dinner Party Download is an hourlong celebration of culture, food, and conversation with hosts Rico Gagliano and Brendan Francis Newnam, designed to help you dazzle your friends at this weekend's get-together. It’s a fast and funny hour; essentially, it’s “public radio’s Arts and Leisure section.”
We know these shows will be bright additions to the NSPR programming we all know and love. If you have questions, concerns, or feedback, feel free to email General Manager Beth Lamberson at blamberson@csuchico.edu.
