Dog owners and lovers are ready to unite at the fourth annual Woofstock.
The Butte Humane Society's festival and fundraiser is this Saturday at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds and will be a day of music, pups and philanthropy.
Executive Director Emily Acevedo said it’s one of the biggest fundraisers for the Butte Humane Society.
“And it's a fun way to raise funds,” Acevedo said.
The family-friendly event will include more than 30 local vendors, various food trucks and stands, a wine and beer garden and kid activities.
“The event has just kind of exploded,” Acevedo said. “The attendees have doubled in size compared to where we started the event, and so we've got it set up where there's a little bit of something for everybody.”
This is the second year that the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds has hosted. Butte Humane made the switch after they saw record-breaking heat in the 90s one year.
“If you look at the back of our property, there's just not a lot of shade,” Acevedo said.
What to expect at this year’s event
Dogs are welcome at the festival but must be leashed at all times. Retractable leashes are not permitted. If you don’t have one, a slip lead will be provided.
Several local musical performances will take the stage, including Max Minardi, Turn Signal, Van Hagar, and Whiskey River Band.
There are many food options, including Nemo’s Rice Plate, Tacos Los Serranos, and Tom Tom's Island Style.
“If you love music and you love dogs and cats, there's really no better way for you to participate and contribute to the success of Butte Humane Society than Woofstock.”
The venue is concrete, so it is recommended to bring a comfortable chair to sit in.
