Butte College art students unveil new public art in Downtown Chico’s Diamond Alley as part of the Downtown Arts Placemaking Initiative. There will be eight artworks with a theme surrounding local agriculture.

For years, Black Fong has been an indispensable part of the city’s vibrant music scene, consistently delivering a high-energy blend of funky party music that compels everyone to get up and dance. They’ll be playing their eclectic blend of funk, reggae-dance and rock.

Sky’s Out Thighs Out is a five-piece musical ensemble that forms during the summer to combat the Chico heat and perform some summer-themed songs while clad in mid-thigh length shorts. The ensemble includes Ben Ruttenburg, Gavin Fitzgerald, Max Minardi, Rob Delgardo and Webster Moore.

Ever wondered what ham radio is all about? Now you can at Field Day weekend. GEARS, Chico’s local amateur radio club, invites you to join them for an exciting and educational experience. They will be operating live from out back of the Chico Masonic Family Center, providing a chance for onlookers to explore the fascinating world of ham radio.
