Valley’s Edge and wildfire risk | Butte supervisors race: District 5 incumbent Doug Teeter | Study finds homeless mortality rate up nearly 240%
Next week, Chico voters will decide on Valley’s Edge. Among the debates about the proposed development is wildfire risk. Also, this week NSPR speaks with those running for a seat on the Butte County Board of Supervisors. Today, we hear from District 5 incumbent Doug Teeter, and a new nationwide study on homeless mortality rates has found that unhoused individuals on average live 27 years fewer than housed individuals.

Chico voters approved a 1% sales tax increase. Now the city is detailing where that money went. Also, two minor temblors shook the North State yesterday evening, and the nonprofit Butte County Local Food Network helps individuals grow their own food in community gardens, at schools and in their own backyards.
