Four Oroville residents have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in Saturday’s “rolling gunfight” that took place in Chico near Pillsbury and Cohasset roads, as well as one 17-year-old from Sacramento who sustained a gunshot wound to the hand. That’s according to the Chico Enterprise-Record.
People in a Honda Civic and a Toyota pickup exchanged gunfire beginning on Manzanita and Marjorie avenues before heading to the Bank of America parking lot, where the vehicles crashed, flipping the pickup truck.
Police are still looking for the occupants of the truck who ran north after the wreck. The five people in the Civic were arrested, two of them immediately and three of them after they ran inside Kmart.
Another shooting, this one in on Highway 70 in Oroville, left one man dead and one injured yesterday. Police learned that shots were fired into a vehicle south of Nelson Avenue at about 2 a.m. yesterday morning. Both victims are of Asian descent, as are those detained in this weekend’s Chico shootings. Police have not established any connection between the two incidents.
