Pride Month is in full swing in the North State and across the nation.
Events have been held annually since 1975, and each year it's slowly making its way to smaller, rural communities.
Now, after more than a year of isolation, we're ready to celebrate with workshops, drag performances, and of course, the annual festivals.
Although we are all about celebrating the LGBTQA+ community year-round, here's a list of events happening now. See how you can get involved, whether it's as a volunteer or joining the celebration.
Pride Events
- Shasta County
Summer LGBTQ+ and Allies Youth Group, Wolfpack Clubhouse, “This event is free & open to our LGBTQ+ youth community & allies ages 13-17. Please join us as we launch our new summer youth group in downtown Redding. Bring your friends and come check it out. We will provide this fun and safe environment for our youth to play games, watch movies, provide art workshops, music & dance, livestream SF Pride on the big screen and just hang out with peers.”

LGBTQ+ Resource Fair, Redding's LGBTQ+ Center, “In this session, we will provide a resource guide with LGBTQ+ affirming providers in Shasta County, California State, as well as Nationally. We will also have an Introduction to WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) training and an opportunity to sign up for this 8-week course. To wrap things up we will be asking the community to join us in a brainstorming session on how we can better advocate for change to support the LGBTQ+ community in Shasta County.”

Redding LGBTQ+ Pride, NorCal OUTreach Project “It has been the driving force behind Redding Pride every year since 2009. It is the largest annual gathering for the local LGBTQ+ community. The festival attracts a wide range of supportive local agencies, nonprofits, businesses, and organizations. Past Prides have been attended by 2000+, and we expect attendance to be even greater in 2021. Help support our community by becoming a Redding Pride Sponsor.
