Day 1: Fall Into Winter Membership Drive

There’s nothing like public radio, and in the North State, there’s nothing like North State Public Radio.
Today is the first day of our Fall Into Winter membership drive, and we’re calling on all of you who value NSPR’s unique programming to get involved.
Have you made your gift yet? If you have (or if you are a Sustaining Member), you’ve been automatically entered into our Day Prize drawing: a one-night stay in a deluxe queen room at the Benbow Historic Inn in Garberville on the banks of the Eel River. The Benbow Historic Inn first opened in 1926 and served tourists motoring along the newly opened Redwood Highway.

We will name the winner at 7 p.m. today, and if it’s you, you’ll be notified by phone or email. Good luck!
There’s still time to get in the drawing if you haven’t contributed yet. By giving now, you can help ensure that innovative, intelligent programming will continue to thrive on NSPR.
Here’s what else is on tap for today:
Special on-air guests:
- Director of University Public Engagement Stephen Cummins (7 to 9 a.m.)
- CSU, Chico Professor Emeritus of Journalism, Dr. Katie Milo (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Afternoon Classics Drawing: Pair of tickets to see Lucia di Lammermoor by Gaetano Donizetti on November 27th at the new Zingg Recital Hall on the CSU, Chico campus. This performance is a part of the San Francisco Opera Grand Opera series, sponsored by NSPR in partnership with Chico Performances.
Evening Challenge: Bob and Susan Donahue are sponsoring a $1,500 challenge grant from 4 to 7 p.m. All gifts we receive will be matched by the Donahues up to $1,500.

And don’t forget, all Sustaining Members and drive donors are entered into our grand prize drawing for a winter trip for two to St. Paul, Minnesota, to attend A Prairie Home Companion with Chris Thile in person. This grand prize includes a tour of the historic Fitzgerald Theater and the studios of American Public Media, $1,000 airfare, three nights’ lodging, and a $100 gift card from Mountain Sports in Chico to help you fend off the cold.
Thank you, as always, for your support of North State Public Radio.
