Day 2: Fall Into Winter Membership Drive

Today's day prize is a two-day trail ride adventure at the Wild Horse Sanctuary in Shingletown.

It’s Day Two of our Fall Into Winter membership drive, and today’s prize is a special one.

One lucky listener will win a two-day trail ride adventure at the Wild Horse Sanctuary in Shingletown, where visitors escape the routine of everyday life among wild horses and burros, roaming free in a natural environment inhabited by a diverse wildlife.

After a day of riding through a landscape of native grasses, manzanita, oaks, pines, creeks, and lava rock, guests enjoy a relaxing evening at Wild Horse Camp, which includes storytelling around the campfire and a hearty cowboy barbecue dinner. In the morning, wake to the aroma of fresh-brewed coffee and a tasty down-home breakfast.

Wild Horse Sanctuary

Bordering a seasonal vernal lake, the camp features frontier-style cabins that comfortably sleep two to four guests, a cook house with a wood-burning stove, restrooms, and yes, even a hot shower.

We will name the winner at 7 p.m. today, and if it’s you, you’ll be notified by phone or email. Sustaining Members and those who have given already this fall are entered. Good luck!

There’s still time to get in the drawing if you haven’t contributed yet. By giving now, you can help ensure that innovative, intelligent programming will continue to thrive on NSPR.
