PHOTOS: Cleaning Up Chico's Lindo Channel

Bonnie Thorton of Thorton’s Chevron joined one of the dozen or so volunteer cleanup crews Sunday. Participants estimated that 100 cubic yards of trash and debris was carried out of from the Lindo Channel.";

Volunteers and neighbors hauled several tons of trash, broken and apparently stolen items by hand from Chico’s Lindo Channel Sunday as part of a clean-up event sponsored in part by Chico Velo Cycling Club. 

Vounteers reported finding syringes, human waste, checkbooks, mail, soiled clothing and bedding, vehicle parts, bicycle frames and components, shoes, meal remnants, children’s homework and toys and pharmaceutical drugs.
