Acknowledging potential flooding with the arrival of an El Niño-fueled rainy season, the City of Chico is providing free sand to the public from its corporation yard. The city is not, however, providing burlap or other sacks. Locals wishing to make sandbags will have to provide their own bags. The yard is located on the 900 block of Fir Street.
