Anderson police say a 38-year-old man arrested Friday has confessed to committing double murder, according to the Redding Record Searchlight.
Investigators told reporters that Anderson resident Anthony Harrison Baxter admitted to strangling and stabbing 57-year-old Micheal Helsby and his girlfriend, 61-year-old Georgia Engelhaupt. Police said Baxter was acquainted with the victims. Police did not disclose a motive. The couple’s bodies were found Thursday inside their home on Manter Drive.
