Shasta Lake High School Remains Closed Following Shooting Threat

Central Valley High School in Shasta Lake will be closed again Friday as authorities continue to investigate a shooting threat from Thursday.

Shortly after the school day began Thursday, school administration got a tip that there was possibly going to be a gang-related shooting at 3 in the afternoon.

All students were sent home as local law enforcement investigated.

According to KRCR TV, 18-year-old Michael Anthony Farnsworth was arrested in connection with the threats.

In an unrelated incident, a student at Fair View High School in Chico was arrested Thursday.

According to the Chico Enterprise-Record, police responded to a report of a gun on campus yesterday around 11 a.m. They recovered an unloaded handgun, and arrested a male student for allegedly having a gun.

The school did not close or go on lockdown.
