Chico Man Arrested For Bomb Threat On Bus

Police have arrested and charged a Chico man in connection with a bomb threat that occurred on a Butte Regional Transit bus Tuesday.

The Chico Enterprise-Record reports that 37-year-old Dane Alexander Jackson was charged with making a terrorist threat and on 23 counts of kidnapping.

The incident closed State Route 149 between highways 99 and 70 in Chico and Oroville from 4:15 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, after the driver of the bus activated a silent alarm that led police to stop the bus.

Bomb control officers investigated the threat. No bomb was found. Originally two people were arrested. The other was found to not be involved in the incident.

Jackson is being held on more than $1 million bail.
