A day after the first suspected homicide in Chico in more than a year, Police were investigating a fatal midday shooting at a Motel 6.
The scene appeared normal Friday as employees wiped trashcans and cleaned rooms. Any police scene tape or other evidence had been removed. Motel staff referred questions to corporate, which then referred to the Chico Police. Chico Police declined to comment.
Hours after the incident, police spokeswoman, Michelle Walker told the Chico Enterprise-Record that the public was in no danger. Walker asked the public for information about an older white Ford Crown Victoria with spotlights that may be involved.
