The editorial boards of at least three North State papers say Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-Richavale) should step down.
The Chico Enterprise-Record,Redding Record Searchlightand Chico News and Review all published editorials last week that said California’s First Congressional District Congressman, Doug LaMalfa, is not fit for office after voting to overturn election results in Arizona and Pennsylvania.
The Redding Record Searchlight editorial board wrote, “Since November, when Joe Biden decisively won the presidential election, LaMalfa has debased himself and repeatedly violated his oath to the Constitution.
He has participated in spreading lies and conspiracies in support of the absurd notion that Donald Trump won.”
The Redding Record Searchlight’s editorial board endorsed LaMalfa during his run for the California Assembly in 2002. A representative from LaMalfa’s office did not return a request for comment on the editorials.
