The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning Sunday to alert residents of critical fire weather conditions. The warning is in effect for the Sacramento Valley until Tuesday evening.
The NWS said to expect gusty north winds through Tuesday with the strongest winds forecasted Monday. Expected wind speeds are between 15 and 30 miles per hour, with gusts from 25 to 35 mph.

Dry and warm weather is forecasted through mid-week, with temperatures in the valley reaching the mid-90s by Wednesday.

According to the NWS, these weather conditions can cause fires to start and spread more easily.
