Helen Barrington

Helen comes to NSPR with three decades of experience in public media, including at Radio Netherlands, GBH in Boston, Virginia Public Media and CapRadio in Sacramento. As managing editor for news at CapRadio, she had the opportunity to work directly with a number of NSPR reporters.

Helen has produced local and national programs, managed newsrooms of all sizes, and served as general manager at the public radio station at Cal State Monterey Bay. Most recently, she served as the major gifts officer at From the Top, a National Public Radio and youth leadership program for accomplished young classical musicians. Throughout her career, Helen has trained and mentored students.

"It is the honor of my career to work with the NSPR staff, students and the communities the station serves at this pivotal time, as we co-create NSPR’s next chapter,” she said.
