Heavy overnight construction will echo through Chico this week as Caltrans conducts an ambitious re-paving project along eight miles of State Highway 99.
North and Southbound lane restrictions will be in place from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. between the Skyway and Garner Lane. Work is expected to conclude early Saturday morning. More work is scheduled for late May.
Local residents can expect intermittent noise. Drivers should anticipate uneven surfaces and bumpy pavement while work is underway this week.
Completion of the nine point one million dollar project is expected this summer.
Drivers may wish to use alternate routes.
