Shasta County health officials are offering online registration to alert people when it’s their turn to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
Online registration requires an email address, and the form asks for a person’s name, home address, and age group.
Spokesperson Kerri Schuette said the county is scheduling appointments with that information, and she asked for the public’s patience.
“It is not necessary to call public health. It may be a couple of weeks before somebody gets back to you with an appointment”, Schuette said. “Appointments are still pretty scarce, but we just want you to know that we have received your information.”
Those who do not have an email address can register by calling (530) 245-7890. The county continues to work through vaccinating health care workers, people who are 75 years old or older, and emergency personnel.
Health officials say they’re beginning to think about plans to vaccinate the agriculture sector and people 65 and up. Vaccine registration forms are available at shastaready.org.
