Shasta County is seeing its highest level of measles cases since 2001.
At the moment, those eight cases make up nearly half of California’s total this year.
We spoke with Dr. Eric Sergienko, who leads communicable disease control at the California Department of Public Health.
The California Department of Public Health said officials are monitoring over 150 people who were potentially exposed to measles to see if more cases develop in the North State.
