The 11th Annual Chico Art Festival, once known as Art at the Matador, was renamed when it moved to the new outdoor location at the beautiful grounds of St. John's Episcopal Church, 2341 Floral Avenue in Chico. The festival, which features a Mother's Day weekend extravaganza, will be held Friday, May 10, 4-8pm and Saturday, May 11, 10am-4:00pm. In addition to showcasing the talent of local artists and artisans, there will be children's activities, demonstrations, music, dance, food and a margarita bar. This year's music and entertainment include Soul Posse, Cabillitos de la Cancion, Fire Dancing and Ballet Folklorico. This event is sponsored by the Chico Visual Arts Alliance (ChiVAA) who strive to promote local artists, educate the public about the variety and value of art in the community and provide for a perfect Mother's Day celebration.
