Beginning Sunday evening, October 2nd, JPR's Classics & News Service will begin airing the new season of weekly programs called Concerts from the Library of Congress.
Concerts from the Library of Congress is a 13- part series hosted by Bill McLaughlin -- a co-production of the Library of Congress, and CD Syndications. The program combines a ninety-year tradition of broadcasts from the historic Coolidge Auditorium with an interactive website, , accessing some 22 million items in the Library's music archives.
This season, you’ll hear three of the world’s top period instrument ensembles: Bach Collegium Japan, Apollo’s Fire, and Boston’s famous Handel and Haydn Society; opera star AnneSofievon Otter; violinist JenniferKoh; the EnsembleIntercontemporain, with MatthiasPintscher; and pianist Richard Goode. Join us as Concerts from the Library of Congress celebrates a remarkable 90 years on the air!
