Woman Run Off Road, Then Stabbed In Corning

A woman was forced off the road by another driver who then attacked her in Corning this weekend.

According to a press release from the Corning Police Department, 23-year-old Victoria Bacquet was traveling in a car with 26-year-old Robert Burkhart when they were forced off the roadway by another vehicle.

The driver of the other car, 21-year-old Brianna Lynn Ward, then approached the stationary vehicle and attacked Bacquet with a cutting instrument. Bacquet sustained major stab wounds to her arms and abdomen. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Ward was later arrested on the charges of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and terrorist threats. She was booked into the Tehama County Jail.

It’s unclear from the release whether or not Ward and the victims were acquaintances.
